"Square Pegs"

I’m fascinated with the relationship between things. “Square Pegs” was triggered by four scraps of maple that were off-cuts from sculptural furniture parts.

I enjoyed the way the pieces could be rearranged to create different forms and moods. Playing on that I took nine larger pieces and carved each top into a different sweeping form.

The key to the piece is to move them about, changing their orientation to one another. The final work exists somewhere between my vision and how the viewer arranges the pieces. You partake with me and in participation complete the work.
