“Testimonial By Nature” was published in September of 2004. Most of the poems were written in the two years since “Letters to Sophie” was published. A few poems in this collection go farther back— “Didn’t Happen” resulted from a story told to me by a neighbor many years ago; “Tuscany” and “Close After Death” have been in my notebook since the early nineties.

Many of the more recent poems herein reflect the environment of Cortes Island B.C, at the mouth of Desolation Sound, and several were written in the Santa Fe area of New Mexico.

The cover is a detail from “The Soignes Forest” by Lodewijk de Vadder (1605-1655)

Two poems from this collection are available as broadside art prints—“As If This” and “Charge.” See the Broadsides page for details.
